BACHELOR OF JOURNALISM(B.J.)
ELIGIBILITY:
For being eligible for admission to the course of BJ a candidate must be a
graduate in any discipline at the time of admission. As the seats are
limited, admission is offered on the merit basis coupled with interview. The
University Permits admission to this Course two times in a year in August and
in January.
DURATION:
This degree course is of one year, which is divided in to two semesters.
The course follows a modular pattern. The University reserves the right to
update or change the syllabus at any time as and when needed.
MEDIUM:
Mode of delivery for this programme is English and Hindi. The student has to
make a choice for the medium.
ATTENDANCE:
A student must have at least 75% attendance, failing which his admission
shall be terminated, and he will not be allowed to appear in examination.
TERM WORK:
Bachelor of Journalism being a professional study, a student is expected
to complete all term work assignments, class tests as per the instructions.
Unsatisfactory performance in these activities shall detain a student from
appearing in the University examinations.
PASSING:
The minimum score necessary for passing in as under:
Theory : 40%
Practical : 40%
Aggregate : 45%
The unsuccessful candidates shall be eligible to reappear in next
examination. They shall have to apply for examination on the prescribed form
along with payment of fees. A candidate shall be eligible to reappear upto
three consecutive years after his regular examination as Ex-student. They
shall have to reappear as per new syllabus if there is any modification in
consecutive years.
DIVISION:
In the diploma award, first division if offered to students with marks more
than of equal to 60%, second division to students with marks equal to more
than 45% and less than 60%. It is necessary to pass in all the subjects
together for being eligible to be awarded a division or a merit. Passing in
different subjects in different attempts will only lead to obtain the score
and not division or merit.
DISCIPLINE:
The students are expected to maintain strict discipline and order in and out
of campus. All the students will be governed by the rules and regulations
framed by the University from time to time. The Director General may modify
existing rules; students shall be bound to follow them.

BACHELOR OF LIBRARY INFORMATION
SCIENCES(B.LISC.)
Course details for Bachelor of Library and Information Science are same, as
in case of Bachelor of Journalism.

1. The university is offering courses in modular pattern, where each module
consisting of defined weightage would be part of the curriculum.
2. There would be a specified time in which the module has to be completed
and the student will obtain equivalent weightage of marks after the
completion of the module.
3. Each module will be designed to achieve desired proficiency in the defined
subject matter.
4. Some of the modules would be based on practical knowledge, whereas some
would be based on theoretical knowledge.
5. After completion of certain module a student would be eligible to achieve
diploma whereas in addition to those if a student completes some more
modules, he / she may get degree.
6. The examination pattern for this specific modular teaching would be
different kind and will be based on constant teaching and evaluation method.
7. The time frame of the modular course will range from 6 months to 2 years.
It will depend on the ability of the student to choose the diploma or degree
course.
